Now leaking oil *sigh*
Hey guys so last weekend my truck randomly had low oil which I didn't even knew it lost oil I checked every two weeks and it seemed fine but when we were camping I started my truck and let it idle for a but while I tightened everything and I looked at my oil pressure switch and it was pouring out due to low oil so. Luckily I had a filter and a couple qaurts of oil changed on the spot topped up good to go. Now there is a leak from the back ofy engine doesn't leak much but I was wondering what that could be?

With a username like "Solidaxle85", I think we're safe to assume it's a 22r/re. With a leak at the rear of the engine it could potentially be a bad valve cover gasket leaking down the backside (easy fix), an oil pan gasket (easy fix with a solid axle), or a rear main seal (not quite as easy). Start by cleaning off all of the residual oil and keep a close eye on it.

Yeah valve cover didnt work, replaced it and the half moons started it didnt leak, went for a drive didnt leak. Then went to go grab a box 200km out of town and i almost ran out of oil and there was oil oil on my chasis.

My guess is rear main, since it's leaking so much so fast. If it were teh oil pan in the back I'd imagine it would leak slower, since the majority of the oil is in the bottom of the pan and not resting against the gasket seal.
Try this: pop off the rubber boot on your clutch fork (you may need to unbolt the slave cylinder to get access). Then shine a light in there toward the engine/clutch and see if there is oil all over the place...if so, it's your rear main seal and you'll need to pull the transmission to fix it. You could also take a pinkie and rub inside that hole to see if you pick up any oil. That bellhousing area where your clutch mates up should be DRY....if it's not, this is your issue most likely.

Well to philbert, it only really happens when i drive for a bit, it can leak then stop, then when i start it up i can go for a bit and park it and it wont leak but if i go for a drive it starts to leak..So that could probably still be my rear main ?
