clutch start bypass button?
Hi I'm a new tacoma owner. Could someone please tell me how this clutch button works? I hit the button but still won't start unless I depress the clutch.
Thanks for any input.

When things work like they should pushing the button bypasses the switch on the pedal allowing the starter to turn.
Button unplugged or no longer working .
Then no telling just might have been done

The light comes on but no effect on clutch.I'll follow the wiring try and track it down.
I thought that maybe there was a specific order to turn it on,,like must be in neutral ,ignition in aux mode or something funky like that. Thanks for the reply

Tranny doesn't have to be in neutral. Idea is that if you're crawling up a hill and kill the engine you can just push the button, hit the starter and keep going instead of trying to juggle the handbrake and clutch and get going without spinning the wheels, etc.etc.
Also good if you soak the ignition crossing water; you can crank it out with the starter. Works best in low range, of course. You should be able to put the engine in gear, push the button with the ignition on, and then start the vehicle in gear. Used to be how all stick shifts worked until we got Naderized in the 70's.

Yea ,Turns out the aftermarket alarm system which did not work was the problem. There was a nest of wires behind the dash in the area of the clutch bypass switch, they had one of many wires spliced into the clutch switch also spliced into many other wires of unknown origin. Removed the whole alarm system patched up some wires and now it works consistantly . Thanks to all for the feedback.
