Clutch Pedal Adjustment

Clutch Pedal Adjustment
I have a 1995 4runner v6 that needs the clutch pedal adjusted. I'm a broke college student and trying to do a lot of the repairs I need by myself to save money. Can someone tell me how to adjust my pedal or point me toward a source that can show me? My pedal is too low to the floor, I'm having to push too far to engage my clutch and would like it pulled closer up to me.

It is to bad if we knew where you were perhaps someone could help in person.
You can try and adjust but if the clutch is worn it is not going to help.
If your a big guy your going to want to pull the drivers seat. to get your head and shoulders to a point you can see.
Loosen the lock nut screw the rod out you might want to check it could be screwed out all the way already .
This only adjusts free play and pedal height it does not adjust the clutch .
Good luck

It's not normal. I had it adjusted about a year ago, and the clutch was a lot more responsive after that. I've also had a friend of mine who's a dirt track racer and mechanic tell me it needs adjusted too.

Pushing the pedal to the floor is the NORM for a Toyota.
If it's less responsive since adjustment previously, your clutch is worn out, your clutch pedal bracket is busted, but I bet it's not the pedal adjustment.

I'm having a hard time locating the lock nut...is there a better diagram or can someone tell me where it is. I'm new to doing my own mechanic work, so I need simplistic terms please.

Get your head under the dash to the left side of the steering column when looking out the windshield!!
Find the clutch pedal see where the rod comes out of the clutch master cylinder !!
The adjusting and lock nuts are on the rod.
Have your mechanic friend prove to himself he does not know what he is talking about.
This is a Hydraulic clutch you can only adjust pedal height and free play.
enough said good luck
