Changing front and rear brakes, how much fluid do I need

Hey guys, I'm changing the brakes on my 91 4runner 3.0 4wd. I'll need to pull the wheels but I'm almost sure its going to need front and rear pads and shoes. Should You flush the system every time you change the pads and shoes? If so, about how much brake fluid should I buy?

Flushing the system is good to do, but if it has been done in the past couple of years I wouldn't worry about it, especially in AZ. if you disconnect ANY of the brake line, bleeding it a must.

I flush the system every two years. Get a quart sized bottle of Dot 3 or 4 brake fluid and you'll have plenty.

I've heard that you should only use DOT4 if you have used it for the life of your vehicle? Something about the lack of moisture in DOT4 negatively effecting the seals in the brake system.
