body lift ?'s
I have a 1985 sr5 truck. I was thinking of doing a 2-3' body lift, but someone suggested that i stick with the 2 because i wollnt have to extend the shifter. I was wondering what tires i should run? I was thinking 33" 11.50? Also is it true that with the 3" I'll have to start modding stuff?

extendin the shifter is the easiest part of it. atelast with 4crawler.com's kit it is. all you do to extend the shifter with 2inch is take off the knob, screw the extender on and pu t the knob back on. not sure what you mean by modding stuff. let see soem pics of that 85 i jsut bought one the other day

If you're completely stock, you're going to have some rubbing issues with just a 2 inch body lift. Since you've got that nice solid front axle, that makes lifting your truck a whole lot less complicated/expensive.

Lol. You could lift an 85 for under 500 bucks..
Rears up front like said, 63" chevies in the back, and new spring hangers.
Also it would be wise to do a U-Bolt flip-kit..

I have a performance accessories 3" body lift. I really like it, its cheap and effective. the reason i did a bl is so i can match it with a 3" drive train lift. im going to be making my own tube bumpers to match as well. the shiffters are not far out. i had to pull the shift boots and make a temp out of plastic bags and some old white t-shirt. I stuffed it between the floor and the carpet. here are some pic.
hope that helps out some, good luck
