Which are the best winter tires for snowing at Sierra Summit which located
at Huntington Lake?

 

My Dunlop M/T Maxx Tractions are nothing short of amazing in the snow. The Goodyear Duratracs are awesome too, but Goodyear makes Dunlop so they are basiclly the same tire. Only difference is the look of the tread pattern and the Dunlops were about $10 cheaper per tire. Both are "severe winter service" tires and have the mountain/snowflake symbol.

I just got 2 1/2 feet of snow at my house and I was passing stuck 4WDs all over the place. I was the only one in my neighborhood that could get out for 3 days (besides my neighbor who has a Wrangler with dual lockers and 40s). Here's what it looked like on Sat. morning after 3 days of non-stop snow....



I've been driving in snow every winter for 18 years and have never had snow tires perform as good as these. The technology for snow tires has definitely advanced in the last few years.

 

I just got the Wrangler Duratracs and they kick ASS! Good traction, aggressive look, quite on the road, and they are good in the snow. I'm very pleased with them so far.
