look for a wolverine emblem on the side.
there were a few conversions done prior to the stock mini's Toyota made in 79

your probably is 5 lug, with a dana 25 axle up front. Post some pics if you can, lots of details showing front axle, undercarraige if you can. Curious if it is a Passenger side or DS diff.

There is always the possibility it is a 78 cab on an eighties Toyota factory solid axle frame. Or an at home conversion using a Toyota front axle with a later Toyota 4x4 transmission and transfercase.

Does it have a divorced transfer case? Im betting if its 6 lug it isnt a Wolverine.

Get pictures of the front axle and transfercase. There are many ways to host images. Easiest is using photobucket or similar photosharing site.

Even if it isnt a true wolverine, pre 1979 toyota 4x4's are very rare nonetheless

You put a space in between the image url and [/img] that shouldnt be there. Looks like a Toyota front axle and suspension. Looks like an '85 front axle.

Not sure about the transfercase... Maybe I am looking at it wrong but it looks like a Toyota top shift transfercase and some odd adapter between it and the trans. Looks like the factory 4x4 trans crossmember is under there also. Body lift too....

If there are any spaces it wont post the image, like what I did here,

It may not be an uber rare aftermarket conversion, but it is still a cool retro truck. The odds of you ever seeing another on the road, or even on the trails, is slim to none. The plus side is the Toyota front axle (and transfercase) is stronger, and far better than the axles used in alot of the early 4x4 conversions. Plus you can take advantage of the huge aftermarket support for 79-85 4x4 trucks. You should start searching around, look into the RUF (rear up front) swap if you want to lift it, and you can look into upgrading to 89-95 front brakes (with 83 Landcruiser discs)

Hope you enjoy it! I am toying with the idea of picking up a rust free '76 4x4... Im hoping it ISNT a wolverine lol!

looks like a 79-80 front axle, i see no brace on the bottom of it.

transmission and tranny are correct, my '80 had the exact same adapter.

definitely has a body lift, and a leaking brake master cylinder looks like.

interior doesn't look TOO bad either! nice score
