3vze engine troubles
Hey yota fans, im new to this site. I stumbled across this site when i was trying to find an a/c diagram of the location of the expansion valve for my 94 toyota 4-runner. I bought this rig for $500 dollars and it had a blowed motor, but it had new 31.1050 BF Goodrich tires, new clutch, water pump, and timing belt, but the kid forgot to check oil level and locked the motor up (3 connecting rods cracked in half, and crankshaft twisted). Truck had 154k miles on it when it happened. I had to find another block and sent everything off to the machine shop and had it all done over, heads and all. I rebuilt the motor from the ground up. My problem is that i don't have the power is should have, i have poor fuel mileage, can't get the temp gauge to read normal, it reads a little over the halfway mark, and my 4 wheel drive doesn't engage on the front diff. The 4x4 lights don't even light up on the dash, somebody said it might be the 4x4 indicator box located on the front diff, is that were it locks the axle in, it has auto hubs on it, transfer case it workin and is spinning the front driveshaft to axle. I have a new rad., exhaust system, etc., and still can't figure out the power and temp issue. This is my first 4-runner i've owned and i really like it but i need some suggestions to line this out. I've been workin on cars and trucks my whole life but this one cuts the mustard. Toyotas seem like there they're own breed. Need help.

well if you have the 3.0 (A.K.A. 3.SLOW) that sounds about right with the power and gas issue. I have same thing. you might want to make sure the bulb for the 4x4 light is working you gotta remember its probably 15 years old. Also when you put it in 4 wheel do you here a click form the dash indicating the signal sent to light?
