Are you sure about that? I have manual hubs on my Taco as well. Just because the hubs are free, doesn't mean the rest of the drivetrain isn't working, or at least trying to work. It just means your front CV's are not turning. Maybe I'm just chicken sh%t, but I wouldn't engage the t-case with the hubs unlocked. I'm a little new to trying something like that so educate me on why it's safe to do so if in fact it is.
