weird warning light issue in 06 dbl cab

good day. i tried searching for the one and only code that i am getting for the airbag which is B1660. but let me explain the weirdness part of it.........

so here is the info on the truck.
2006 Tacoma Double Cab V6 SR5
automatic and 4x4, TRD offroad so it has the locker.

so Sunday i was putting on the body lift on my 4runner with my dad and my wife called me and said that her truck had the tire pressure warning light come on. so she came over i checked the tires and they were fine, so no biggie just figured it was a bad sensor, happens all the time.

on monday wife calls me on her way to work and says that all her warning lights came on in her truck. her airbag, tire pressure (which was on), cruise light, and ABS. so i called my friend who is a mechanic and asked him, said its prolly the clock spring and there is a recall. but i sent her over to his shop to read the codes to make sure, and the only code he pulled was the B1660 for the air bag. which is the pass side controller. but why the other lights. then on the way over there her blower motor stopped working. random not sure if its related or not, but we got one and our friend swapped it while she was there since its really hot. we checked the horn and what not and that still works so its not the clockspring...sadly. oh ya and the even weirder part is they are not on all the time, they will come on, then next time she drives wont be on, middle of drive come back again.

so i call up toyota have her take it to them to fix the recall, and her year doesnt qualify. so we ended up getting some free diagnosis time out of the stealership and they said that it was a short somewhere between the Body ECU and the engine harness. they want a min of $350 to fix it, but said it could take 2 hours or a few days to find it......dont even want to know what the bill would be for a few days to find it.

so here is my issue with that diagnosis. everything that im reading says the main issues with the Body ECU are with lights and door chimes and what not. since the Body ECU controls the accessory type deals, power locks, windows, lights, etc. i dont see the connection to the Body ECU having a short and setting off all of the service lights at the same time. the other part of the short that doesnt make sense to me is that if they shorted and melted together they should be on all the time, not sporadic like it is.

i wanna test the airbag relay thats under the center console, any one know how to test that?

any suggestions on this? ive been searching google forever and cannot find anything about it. im pretty tech savvy and my friend is a mechanic so i have access to a shop with all the tools if need be, so skys the limit on suggestions really. i really dont want to take it to the stealership to have them track it down. my friend is helping me but we are both kinda stumped on this one, without tearing apart parts of the truck to track it down. hopefully someone has a suggestion...

Thanks
