Opinions...what year?

So I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and get a loan and go for a little nicer T4R(I gotta have all body colored). I have found three and I wanna know which would y'all pick? All are right around 14.5k

First is a 2003 SE 4WD V6 w/66k miles...nice but the four speed tranny gets me.

Second is a 2004 SE 4WD V8 w/64k

Last is an 05 SE 4WD V6 w/88k but with the 5spd auto

All are so similar it's just the little differences that make me contemplate which one to get.

go for the last one.. itll look better with a lift and armor.. and the dark color helps hide road grime

Well, if you want full-time AWD, get the V8, I believe the V6 is a conventional 4WD.

That's the biggest difference... If you haven't taken them for a test drive, that might help you decide.

I'd avoid the '03 since 1st year of a new gen tend to have issues and by a year or two Toyota has refined the generation so IMO newer is better.

Wow, I'd think everyone would have told me to take the V8 but I can understand the whole full-time 4WD vs part-time argument and as much as I would like to lift it, I can't because I need to drive my grandma places and a lift would make it impossible for me to get her anywhere...she could barely get in my 3rd gen

I probably need to decide on the one I most want because they are all about 4-5 hours away and all in a different direction

Grey one is in northern indiana, the white one is in PA, and the silver is somewhere in TN...i think. I wouldn't be surprised if these are the end of the month pricing and they go back up in a couple days :-(

Did you buy one yet?

I'd say second w/ the V8. I'm probably biased because I've basically got the same truck and I just love the v8. I'm sure the 6 is great also but the power of the 8 (coming from a first year third gen for me) was just crazy.

The new Trail Edition comes close but still no manual tranny but they finally added the rear locker.

I just bought an 04 sport v8 60k miles one owner oil changes every 3500 miles at the same dealership white just like you posted for 13,600. I bought it down in KY. Look at the front ends of them, a lot of the showed a fair amount of rust on the frame. Especially the one in columbus.

Originally list at $18k? then dropped to $16.8K. It was at a dealer in Georgetown, KY. I paid $15k out the door with OH tax paid, OH reg. paid, OH Liscening paid, full tank, steam cleaned interior, no other bs. It was a one owner, no paint work, no dents, some stone chips, clean interior, oil changes(every 3500) and maitanence at a Toyota dealership, new tires, 60k miles. I think I got a great deal on it. I looked at about 15 before I bought, I was not happy with many I looked at. I may have looked at some you are looking at.

WOW! lucky, I've talked to a couple places and they basically shunned me when I even asked about lowering the price. I'm really wanting that white one, it is south of pittsburgh and of the three it seems the cleanest. The silver 03 actually has a lot of the service history listed on the carfax which is nice but I don't think I will go for that one.

thats the URL for the white one...do you think you looked at it by any chance?

oh and that white SR5...I saw it online and it just didn't seem good at all but I gotta have a SE or one with steering wheels audio controls so it counted that out.

I stopped looking at 03s and focused on 04/05 in my price range. I saw a lot with rusty chassis in the front and the bolts that hold on the rear bumpers were rusty. That immediatley turned me off. Toyota has some great rates on certified used model.
I told the dealer 15k otd and they told me no, 10 minutes later they told me 15.5, I said I'm at 15 otd, 5 minutes later they called me back.

That SE looks nice, but I wouldn't buy it b/c its lived in PA for 5 years. Salty. Carpets appear dirty. Good luck with your search. That one looks just like mine.
