New Tacomas

My wife finally let me test drive one. Man, these are nice!

My '91 4Runner has just about 164,000 miles. Assuming no vehicle is worth the new price, are these close to being worth it? Of course, it would be the last truck I would need to buy.

stick with your current Toyota. the newer Toyotas have very little quality. once they got the big name they fell into that same catogory as all the other automakers where they dont care about quality anymore just profits. i dont like it and i love Toyotas but its the truth.

I wish I could get my 4Runner on "Overhauling," or whatever that show is called.

Too bad, if what you say is true. I thought the Tacomas were immune to that.

Don't let asshat discourage you.
The 05+ tacomas are okay vehicles. Early 05+'s were cracking at the engine mounts, some 6speeds have a whine, some 5speed autos also have problems, the rear springs suck, and the interior isn't the highest quality. Search over on ttora and you'll find the common problems. All in all though they are okay trucks. That said, I'd buy an 03-09 4Runner before buying an 05+ Tacoma.
