Looks awesome man, the 4th gens are just now starting to grow on me...probably because so many people are modding them to make them look good.

So i finally got all the lugs painted. Had to do 4 at a time, 1 per wheel per day basically. Hopefully they will hold up pretty well. It looks way better now.

Just was searching around YT, I am thinking of getting my wheels powder coated black. How do they balance them? Wouldn't the normal clip on weights scratch the coating?

Yeah, it would scratch the rim. They use normal weights on the inside of the rim and tape weights for the other side. You dont see them when looking at the car.

EDIT: Since i happen to have one rim off the car due to a blowout, here is a pic of the weights.

I havent fixed the tire yet because i am thinking about just getting new tires all around. I was seriously dissappointed with the performance of the stockers(big surprise) on my last outing. I managed to get stuck in a patch of snow on the 4th of july!

do they only do that on black rims? On my alloys they put the weights on the outside of the rim, and I dont have any stick on ones

I am not positive, but i would guess that any rims with an nice finish, like PC or chrome they will use the stick on ones. These rims had the titanium factory finish before and they had the weights on the outside like normal.

Nice looking wheels. As I looked at the pics on the first page, I was going to comment that it looks like you could go up a size with your next set of tires, and a more aggressive tread would compliment the setup nicely. Now, you have that opportunity.

Thanks. The only reason i havent bought new ones yet is the fact that I dont want to drop almost $800 when the stockers still have a ton of life left. I will definitely do it before winter tho. I plan to get Les Schwab wild counrty TXR's in the next size up from stock. I will finally do the lift when i get new tires. I had a set of these on my previous car and they kicked ass in snow and mud. Drove them for 35000 miles and they still looked new.

The powdercoat guy said he could color match them pretty close. But i think it would have been overkill on the gray and looked pretty lame. Oh, and BTW, 20's or 22's should never go anywhere near a 4runner.
