A few years ago, I used to have a '04 with the V8 and I liked it a lot. However I own a small sound production business and it was able to tow my small trailer that I had; Well business boomed a little and ended up needing to buy something bigger, so I ended up buying a 3500 Express Diesel cargo van.

So now I am looking to buy another 4Runner; and I am looking for a V6 this time (I don’t need to tow). I am mainly looking at the SR5 and/or Sport models; I don’t want/need leather seats so I eliminated the Limited from my searches.

One thing that I keep pondering is the transmission; I see that in '05 the trans was updated from the 4sp to 5sp. Should I be overly concerned about the 4sp behind the 4.0L V6?

Other than that, everything has been superficial updates; other than 2008 with the VSC kill.
