lift kit/tires
I'm wanting to lift my truck 2-3 inches front and back, but I'm confused about leveling kits, body lifts, suspension lifts etc... I just want to know how to get my truck higher off the ground, and where to get the parts to do so. also, my trucks 2wd and I'm wondering if I should get all terrain tires or mud terrain tires, or just stick to the normal SUV tires that are on there. In your opinions do you think it'd be stupid to lift and put off road tires on a 2wd truck?

If I were you I'd stay away from spacer lifts. They are cheap and give you the hight you looking for, but the ride turns to crap. I'd go with Old Man Emu (OME) 885 coils in the front, 886's if you plan on getting a heavy winch bumper and winch, and just run and add-a-leaf in the back. Round the package out with new OME shocks. Your ride will be much improved over stock. As for tires, if your not running in the mud, don't run mud tires. I'd suggest some BFG All-Terrrains, or some Nitto Terra Grapplers. They are a more aggressive all terrain tire that many have had good results with.

I wouldn't say it's stupid to lift a 2wd truck or suv. Although you won't be going places a 4wd will, it will still look good and in some cases, better than a 4wd due to the lack of low hanging pieces up front. Post some pics when you get the lift on. Also, listen to AppleJack and go with the coils. I went with a spacer lift and hate it now due to the rough ride and not perfect alignment because of the spacer lift. I've been told that there are adjustable A-arms but not sure where to find them. Good luck with everything and don't be afraid to ask questions, all these guys on here have been of much help to me and several others.

how about the traction control? it's kind of annoying and its gotten me stuck a few times, the back tires just stop spinning so i can't get out of the mud, and when i turn it off it cuts back on. do you all think traction control's a good or bad thing? ill post some pictures before pictures, and afters. all I've done to it so far is put on a brush guard, tail light guards, 5% tint all around with 35% on the windshield, and 4 ten inch subs 4 6x9s and two tweeters.

x2 on the BFG All-Terrains. They are great all-around tires. I've been running those instead of studded snow tires this winter and they do great! People warn of weak sidewalls, but thats mainly only a concern for rock crawlers and hardcore off-roaders.
Theres nothing wrong with lifting a 2wd

Agreed, traction control in 2wd is annoying, not so much in 4wd though. Have you considered perhaps trading in or selling and getting a 4wd? Kinda sounds as though you like to get out to places where 4wd is helpful if not a necessity. You should consider this heavily before dumping cash into something you may regret keeping.
