I currently have a 99 Limited and love it. It has been a great vehicle and has roughly 165K on it. I just found out today that my other vehicle (99 Ford Expedition) has a blown head gasket and I will probably try to sell asap "as is". I plan to purchase a 4th Gen in the next week or two for my wife to have as her daily driver. Are there any particular years / motor combos that are more desireable? I was really interested in a 04' limited / v8 that I found online. I have read a few post that describes emission problems on the v8's that are very expensive to fix?? Please give me your suggestions and input.

the v8 needs a timing chaine service every 100,000 miles that can cost up to 1,400 dollars at the dealership. i have driven both and ended up buying a v6 with 165,000 mile and have had 0 issues in 15,000 miles of driving it and not to mention better gas mileage and also there is a little power difference not much though. I have the sr5 with leather and i enjoy it
