Question is in the title.

My 3G 4Runner has two shoulder and one lap belt in the back. Wondering if the 4G is the same, or if it has three shoulder belts?

It has three standard shoulder belts in the back.

 

That is one of the thing my professor brought up back in 2005 about seat belts. He thinks lap belts are more dangerous, in most car crashes, than not having one.

The lap belts hold your lower body down intact but that leaves your upper body to possibly receive whiplashes and break some spinals.

Now, a lot passenger cars, if not all, are equipment with all shoulder/lap seat belts.
