Full Time 4x4?
I've never had a 4x4 and might pull the trigger on a 2003 Sport Edition 4runner v8 with under 40k miles. I wanted to go for the v6 2005 but to keep in my price range i'd have to get one with about 80k miles (at least) and this v8 is a great deal.
I live in SoCal so 4x4 is overkill; however, i do like driving in the mountains and love the fact that i could take this thing on trails if the circumstance presents itself. Any disadvantages of having full time 4x4?

The full time 4x4 is the same concept as AWD. The 4runner has the option to lock the differential in the transfer case in slippery conditions (ice/snow/mud) to have 50/50 power to front and back wheels plus the option of 4Lo when more torque is needed.

Thanks guys. I know someone that is selling an '03 4x4 with under 40k miles, v8 engine, sport edition, sunroof for 15k. Older guy, doesn't drive it much.
It's still a 9 year old vehicle so im wondering if the timing belt will need to be changed soon but if i should jump on it since it has such low mileage. or if i should wait for an '05 with 90k + mileage with the v6 to save on gas for maybe a little cheaper.
Decisions!
