Brake accumulator noise, cycling
Hey guys. I have always found this site very informative and have tried to contribute to the knowledge base as much as possible over the last 9 years. This issue has me somewhat stumped. My wife came home today saying the truck had a slight whistle type whine noise. The A/C has cycled audibly and she is aware of that noise. This accumulator made a diaphragm squeak one time, but I could capture it. Is it supposed to cycle this frequently in Park? I know what it costs to replace and the thought of this thing going out makes me sick. Any help on whether or not this is normal would be much appreciated.

Well it failed today. My wife stated it sounded like a ballon being pulled tight letting the air out on her way to work this morning. A periodic "squeaaaaak" type sound. This afternoon when she left work, it had a piercing high pitched sound and the Brake, VSC, ABS lights lit up. She switched it off and called me. I drove it to the local Honda, Toyota specialist and never got any warning lights, but did here the periodic sueak. We'll see what this costs me.

The squeak sounds just like a pinched balloon letting the air out. Lasts about 1/2 second, but occurs every 3-4 seconds with or without pressure on the brake pedal. Sounds like a pressure leak at the pedal rod on the floor board.
