I didn' pay for the 17" wheels, talked that out of the price since it was an option I didn't want and they wanted to make a deal.

Also I figure I can resell the 17" alloys for more and the 265/70r17s too.

Damn, Marshall, that's going to look great. Those 285s will still require that you do a lot of trimming ... I'm running 275s (32.4") and even with 4" of lift I had to cut out 98% of the inner fender lining, and depending on other factors, you may have to cut a bit of the bumper, but that depends on things like backspacing, etc. The BFG A/Ts in the 285 are only 32.8", so you'll have to do about as much work as I did to fit the 275s, except that the BFGs I think are wider, and that could cause rubbing on the upper arms but again, hopefully you'll get lucky and not have that problem.

To renew this thread I'm planning to lower my truck back toward normal. the 285 75 r16 Goodyear MTR's are killing me, they just won't stay balanced and other factors pervade. So to go back toward normal, I'm planning: 265 75 r16s or maybe BFG ATko 275 70 R16s. Either way i'm planning to put OEM v8 springs in the front with my OME front shocks (unless that won't work) but that should balance our my ARB bull bumper and Warn Winch at about .5" in the front. Then in the back FJ cruiser '07 rear springs which should be about .4" over stock height. If all goes as planned, we'll see. Anyone know anything to the contrary? Currently i have OME prado lift front.884/N140s rear.895.N142, i was planning to use the OME shocks, and sub in new springs around. I know the back it will make less of a deal but in the front I might have a problem but I'm having a hard time finding spring rates and height measurements on OEM and other springs.

PS can't find the thread i originally saw that gave me the FJ cruiser spring idea, can anyone help?
