Smile Bought a new runner.

Got back from the dealership about an hour ago. I bought a '05 SR5 v6 in black. I'd put up a pick, but you guys know what they look like. First up new tires and steel wheels... Thinking LT285/75 r16's. How much lift will I need to clear them? I figure an inch or two. Anyone know of steel bumper made to fit the forth gens? Oh so much to do. very exciting.

I'll be selling my '95 sans roof rack and winch if anyone is interested. I'd also like to hear what you all think is fair asking price>

Edit. Here are some pictures.

Yep, you'll definitely need more than 2 inches to clear 285s... You'll probably need a combination of 3" lift and RB body lift to clear those treads if you plan on doing any 4 wheeling. The lift alone should do you if you only plan to pound the pavement, tho.

As for front bumpers, you'll have to wait for the ARB unless you plan on going custom. There isn't anything else out there !

Rocky and Good Times should be able to fill in any missing pieces I may have overlooked. They've been at this the longest.

Good luck and congrats on the 4th Gen !

until I have time to host these images, sorry for the attachement. Anyway here's some pics... it's been 32 hrs. and here's what I've got so far...now if I could only keep up this pace.

I just have to figure out what lift to do, then put one bigger tires and black steel in the hour of chaos.

Better check to be sure 16" wheel will fit on your Runner. The wheels that show up on your truck in your attachments are 17" and may be on your truck for a reason (i.e. 16" won't fit).

From my recollection, SR5's could fit 16" wheels, but Sport and Limiteds could not. This was primarily due to the brake calipers installed on the Sport and Limited models. Of course, this knowledge is all from the '03 models, which Toyota may have changed specs on since then.

I'd just make sure 16s can fit on your truck before you lay down the $$ and find they don't fit.

well the only way they wouldnt fit is, as you said, the brake calipers, which can be changed.

The SR5 this year have the same thing stock 16" wheels. 17" are an option. Mine's an sr5 with the 17" wheel upgrade, however I don't think it they got the bigger calipers and roters. I fairly sure it was only a wheel upgrade. So 16" wheels shouldn't be a problem.

May I ask why you would pay for the 17" upgrade if you were going to swap out the wheels anyway?
