Congrats Andries on the new lift.
I wonder what coils might be appropriate on the front by the time there is an ARB bullbar and winch hanging off the front, maybe with a few lights?
Does Lance have a weight figure for the new front bar he is having fabricated presently?
I look forward to getting my (James') Daystar lift in soon. Look forward to wheeling some more with you guys too.

Mark thx man.
My plan is to install all the extra goodies on the current suspension first and then see what I have. It will make it easier to decide what to use for coil upgrades, etc. Both in the front and rear there are heavier duty coils availible than what we used. Slee is also bringing in theri own coils which are even beefier.
A suggestion would be to have the coils fitted by a professional shop at that point as standard spring compressors will not cut it safely anymore. Mine was bulking at the 884s with the trim packer.
Hope you enjoy the Daystars, just gives that extra bit, especially if you get bigger wheels. You will notice quite a bit of difference. We should defintely go hit a few trails soon.

Ok here are my pics. First stock vs OME comparision. it is not that clear on the photos, but the OME stuff is way beefier than the stock shocks and coils. Especially in the rear.

XREAS disconnection was another adventure. As per the service manual I dropped all 4 wheels hanging. Then I first did the rear suspension. AFter that Ifirst rmoved the front struts fromthe suspension itself to make sure they are not compressed at all and then I disconnected the lines.
It worked out well as didn't loose any fluid in the rear at all and only like a single drop on the passenger side front adn nothing on the driver side front. The disconnects have klittle vales so it should be safe to use as long as you follow instructions, The drop or two you might loose in inevitable as the coupling itself may have very small amount of fluid. But honestly that will not affect the system. They have to assemble it in a factory right?? ANybody want to buy some spare XREAS shocks from James and myself for cheap ????
ALso always use the biggest nut to turn to disconnect it is a 22mm nut. Teh engineers in Japan have a wicked sense of humar as it was a pain at points to disconnect. The rear was easy while the frotn was difficult. James had the opposite experience.

BTW: I measured my truck again and the front is at just over 38.5" (not 39) but the rear is just about 40.25". Sorry for not posting numbers from flat ground.

Thats where I would like to end up Tracy, not counting any body lift components of course. I really don't mind being tippy or swaying while on the asphalt, I'm used to driving an FJ40 on 35's and I average about 750+ miles per week.
I want the clearance underneath. Right now I plow my way through way too much stuff with my undercarriage the way I sit!

Mark, yeah a garage and tools are really nice to have when I want to ticker with things.
So I had my alignment done today. SO it seems that I'm close to 3.25" lift in the front and around 2.75" in the back. (with my tires, fender to ground over the center of the wheel, with my "measuring stick" as I hate tape for things like this it is front 37.25" front and 38.75" rear )
I spoke with Ben in regards to some of the small issues in the back and he is looking into it. So hopefully it will all be resolved by the time the next batch comes in. It seems at least one is only specific to XREAS equipped 4Runners.
Both James and Ben said the rear will soften up with a bit more use. That is maybe why James is happy with his. He already wheeled hs ith tools and stuff in the back. So I'm sure the rear will soften a bit for me as well. Just need to go for a quick trip

FT and BD-Y, has the new lift eliminated any wheel rubbing you had with the coil spacers? My 265/70's seem to rub more and more each week in the front (please, ARB, hurry!). Have either of you guys been shopping for new meats now that you have a bit more space in there?

The only rubbing I get is at full turn/compression like going up a driveway or something- it's just a little "brap" and that's it. It has to be a pretty sharp turn to do that.

FT and BD-Y, any updates on the performance/feel of the OME setup now that you have had them on for a little while? How much have they settled? Any regrets with the medium duty springs? That is, do you wish you'd have gone with the HDs over the mediums?
(I'm watching this closely as I think I'm going to go with the OME setup if you guys are decently satisfied.)
