I did a search but I don't know if it's been asked. Why is there no application for a 4runner supercharger with the 4.0L motor? It's only FJ cruiser and Taco. Is there that much of a difference that Toyota couldn't make one for the runner?
I was considering a supercharger for my '04.

 

Hood fitment issues. Not a big market for them when the entire hood needs to be clearenced and it's not easy to make it look good. Kind of takes the "bolt on" away from the kit.

I'm sure TRD will come up with something, just have to be patient.

 

Really? thanks. I didn't know that the charger was that big. My sport hood scoop doesn't help? LOL!

To my knowledge, the 04 4.0 is not the same as the 05+ 4.0.

It also looks like the the supercharger they make is for 05+. But with a lot of $$$ anything is possible.

If anyone else knows more on this topic...hopefully they will chime in.

If I modify my 2006 4Runner hood (slap some sort of scoop or something), then can I use a TRD 4.0 L SC kit for an FJ or Tacoma? How do I flash the ECU? Will the Toyota dealer have a program for the 4Runner, or will a Tacoma or FJ work? Has anybody done this?
