2012 Tacoma Changes
Thoughts?
Photoshop of what the Sport model could potentially look like...

I like it, but I want to see a double cab version in both TRD Off-Road and TRD Sport before I make up my mind.
There are also supposed to be a ton of interior changes/enhancements that I'd like to see.
Regardless, I love my 2011.

If you watch the video, you can see the back of it - looks identical to me.
I do like the front bumper redesign...a lot...but once I get an aftermarket bumper, I won't care.

well at least they changed SOMETHING since 2005 but hey, why reinvent a proven vehicle I like it, but it looks like the designers at Toyota are starting to try a little too hard to please the eye than they are making them more of a "truck" with that nose, if you know what I mean...

That thing seriously looks like an American bulldog, now. I didnt like the 2nd gen when they first came out. But now I love 'em. This isnt much different. More squared off, right? Looks more like the 5th gen 4runner.

Nobody really knows but the way I look at it, they have no reason not to put the Dual VVT-i 4.0L in the Tacoma now, the 4Runner has it...I can't imagine they would need to re-engineer anything.
My expectations are that they will rely on the minor exterior redesign and fairly extensive interior redesign (Entune, leather, navigation, etc...) for the next 1-2 years and then fully redesign it with a new drivetrain come 2014-2015. Who really knows, though?

Same body, new front end.
Still waiting for the (entirely) new Tacoma, which it seems like it's never coming.....

been to a few new model classes where we test drive new models like when the new tundra came out. its funny that the guy that did the presentation said that toyota designs their vehicles so they look their own. lmao, its not like we cant see and compare. all the cars toyota makes look similar in the front end, bumper and grill on the rolla and camry. now the taco looks like the runner. starting to do what mitsu does now, how their front end all look alike, from evo to suv using similar front bumpers.... toyota only has a few engines that are all shared anyways. not hating on toyota but its just funny. due to the econmy, the taco should have a new model design by now but it looks like they gonna run it longer. just adding more features than anything else. bet the next gen taco is gonna look alot like the newest runner with similar/same features

yea i was hoping it was going to get a whole new body like the fifth gen 4runner all square and tank looking i dont think the square frontend looks good wth the round body
