09 4Runner prices

hi, there,

i recently got married and moved to Indy, i have a lifted 3rd gen paid off and the wife drives 07 RV4 paid off. we are thinking about having a baby in the near future, will probably need a people carrier bigger than her RV4 because she hates clambing into my 99 specially now with the sliders in her way.

i and the wife went to the Indy auto show eariler this week, and out of all the cars and trucks on the show floor, the only one she laid here eyes on was a 4Runner(huh...i wonder why??), an 09 TE V8 to be exact. but the $43K price tag was equally shocking to me.

so, just to goof around, i emailed a local dealer and got a written quote of an 09 Sport V4 4WD with rear locker for $32900 which dropped from $36996 sticker price without much of barginning. detail of the vehicle can be seen here: http://www.butler-toyota.com/ the stock # is 16909

it's still early to actually purchasing it but i'd prefer to get an idea what you folks paid for yours, doesn't matter it's an 08 or 09, V6 or V8, or SR5, Sport, Limited what ever.

by the way, if you look at the vehicle detail features, from 7th and 8th lines from the buttom, it says :locking rear diff., locking front diff. are these for real? front locker?

thanks.

hell no, i'm NOT gonna sell my 4Runner, first i put too much labor and $$$ in modifying it, secondly i still think the 3rd gen look better than 4th gen., just too plastic'ish.

it's gonna be for her, so IF we buy a new 4runner, here RV4 is the one to be traded in. but..... sooner or later, it will be mine, i'm just laying down the fondation now, that's why i'm looking for lockers and 4WD stuff, letting her know these are "safety" features which are very very important.

WOW that's awesome front locker still think I will check with Toyota to make sure but if so I wonder if it will be an easy retro fit like the E-Locker into our older toys

That's so ridiculously awesome, why would a 4Runner like that need a front and rear locker?

The Trail Edition only comes with a rear locker and a V6. The front locker and V8 is all BS and you should be leery of that dealership that doesn't even know their own products.

IMO, get the Trail Edition. That is an awesome package (and only adds ~$2000 to the SR5, IIRC). Your wife will love it.

As far as prices, if you're just getting a SR5 V6 4x4, you should be in the mid-$20k's (High $20k, OTD). For the TE, I think there is a limited supply, so it's going to be hard to negotiate, I think.
