Don't take it the wrong way, but I think you need to put on your man pants and tell her what YOUR money will be spent on, she can do what she wants with hers and you do what you want with yours.

X2, pretty much same story for me as well. I guess some wifes are not so understanding.

Hope it goes well for you! Good luck.

Good deal. My wife never asked me to sell my yota after my sister hit a bear with it. Her mom asked why was I going to fix it. Said it was waste of money and time, that we should spend upgrading stuff in house on. My wife popped off "its his truck. He loves it and working on it makes him happy. " Her dad suggest dana 44s and 37s Haha

Glad to see your keeping it. I have parted out quite a few rigs and should most if not all the parts you need just sitting on my shelf.

If you want any, let me know.

so i finalized everything with the insuance company and started the repairs, so far i have spend just over 110.00 and im waiting on a bearing for the dist to come in and i will be ready to try starting it and see if it will run, yeah i dont waste time when i want it repaired... i looked at the harness and only the wires that go down to oil sending unit, the front axle sensor and the dist. wires got burned up but i have replaced them, got air box off craigslist, new wires, cap, rotor, and couple hoses, i took the dist apart and found a bearing that was bad so i pulled it and found what size it is, so i found one for 695 plus 6.00 shipping and now waiting for it to get here and ill see if its really the right one, after that comes in then i will be ready to start and see what else is wrong... if i can keep repairs down i might go and get a set of 33s and stock toyota rims for my ride, ill keep u all posted....

well its all back together, but wont start, i think the wiring for the dist is wrong and have to play a little more with it tomorrow and see whats up. i ended up having to rewire more then i thought i would have to, every wire for the afm and igniter was melted together and some bare in side. but so far i have spent 140.00 on parts

so after messing with the wiring on the dist. and looking it all over again and again found the problems and got it all wired up correct and now running good, i have about 150ish into it so far, most of the other things i want to do is put 33s on it and put all the items i had in it before and then i will be done....

a nice sum of 4,141.30 i milked them for all i could get, first they offered me 2500 and then came back with 3000 i said no, and sent them adds for 3 different 91 4runners for 5995.00 and so they came back with 4510.00 and i took it.

Just reading this now. Depends on what you want out of your vehicle. Are you emotionally attached? I know it sounds silly, but some of us are.

Yeah I don't think the blue book does the toyotas justice at all. Try finding a nice shape 88 model for '$2,000'. PFFT.

On topic though, VERY glad to hear your wife saw it your way brother! I feared the worst when I first started reading this, and I hate seeing a good ole 4Runner in the junkyard So it's nice this has a happy ending! Be my good reading for the day. Just a btw, I don't know if you've a lift already on your runner, but we had an 89 @ stock height with 32x11.5's and had some steering rub when making somewhat tight turns. Just figure I'd mention. Congrats again!
