Wiring GM 1 Wire Alternator for 93 Toyota 4Runner 22RE

Wiring GM 1 Wire Alternator for 93 Toyota 4Runner 22RE
I've searched this topic and can't find anything to clarify this question specifically for a 1 wire alt and 93-95 22RE's.
My rig is 93 4runner with a GM 1-wire alt. I have 4 gauge wire run from the post on the GM alternator to the battery. Is this the only thing required for proper operation of the alternator? Do I need to modify the stock Toyota harness and wire any of it up to another location? Or do I tape it up and leave the stock alternator plug hanging? As I understand, 93-95 Toyota's use internally regulated alternators.
I've read people re-wiring the battery indicator light, ignition and sensor wires (constant 12v and switched 12v)... Is this needed on a 1 wire GM alternator for proper operation?
Warm regards,
Marc

I just did this in my OM617 diesel swap.
I used the original white main toyota wire, plus and additional 8 gage wire, that's it, no other wires. I've only run for about 50 miles, but I have no cel, battery, or other lights on the dash. Seems to be working fine.

Is it correct that because the 93-95 use internally regulater alternators I don't have to worry about the new GM 1-wire alt over charging my battery? Or drawing any current when the truck is off? Basically eliminates the need for a sensor wire used on the 84-92 toyota's...
Also, because the GM alt is a 1-wire my stock toyota battery indicator light is now useless?

I found a link to a great write up by ErikB a moderator on 4x4wire for installing a 140a Powermaster GM alternator(or any one or three wire high output alternator):

Here is another awesome write up for installing a Powermaster #47802 into a v6 (but is applicable to all models) by David on pirate4x4:

Just my 2 cents worth I did the gm 1 wire alternator and smoked 3 remaed and 1 new in 500 miles.
Just get a 12 SI 94 amp 3 wire it wires up the same as your stock yota alt but you need to sodder some wires. And your lights will work. Also.
Read my posting here.

A one wire alternator requires only one wire to work properly. If you only require stock amperage then the stock alternator battery wire is sufficient. If you require higher than stock amperage then run one wire from your one wire alternator straight to the battery in a higher gauge wire than stock. A one wire alternaotr will not/can not connect to the factory charge light.
In the old days, internaly regulated GM alternators had 3 wires. Any internaly regulated GM 3 wire alternator can easily be converted to a one wire alternator by a DIY person. If someone wants thier charge light to function and they want to use a GM alternator they will want to use one of the older 3 wire GM alternators.
There are many different versions of newer GM alternators with various amounts of wires. I think they started changing them up in the early 1990's.
