I just finished it a couple weeks ago. That was teh day I drove it home. Took a whopping three days to build it beginning to end. New 12" travel shaft is good to go now though.

So here are some pictures of my girl.

Here is her face.

I'm currently transforming it. I had a '87 Turbo and hit some black ice and flipped it. I have stripped the '87 and now putting all of the parts into the '85. It is quite a project. You can follow the project here at this thread.

Dang it....gotta get my roofrack on! I just finished the mounting I needed to add in order to get my lights on it. Just gotta mod the rack mounts to sit flush with the top.

^That one is nice, but I wish the spare tire matched the rims. That steel wheel is butt....lol.

Just got my roofrack on. It's a Surco rack from Summit Racing. I modified the mounts to both match the roof slope, as well as lower the rack 1". I then mounted the rack with 5/16 well nuts (both seal and mount at same time). I also added the front light mount using aluminum from Lowes. Overall about 225.00 spent for the mod.

I need to get better pics, but these are some quickies.

Along the front of the rack, then down through one of the mounts. The wiring is all but entirely concealed. I used a Honda style plug inside so the roof can be removed and have a quick disconnect.

I bought this back in '98 after I got out of high school. I was stupid for selling it.

Mine is much closer to stock than not. It has issues, but it is completely reliable, even after 20 years on the road. From the Boxing Day soft top change-over:

Thanks! I think I just rolled over 35,500 the other day. Still runs like new.

New toy, some work to do.
Details here -> https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f77/...ropane-134657/

question. Do US 4runners come stock with that roll bar in the back? JDM ones seem to be lacking this nice feature.
