what size of fuel line or brake line do I need for my 1988 truck
I bought a 1988 toyota , the truck had been set there for years and I finally took the gas tank of so that I could able to replace the fuel pump bracket . I noticed that the steel fuel line was rusted and I want to replace it , so what size of fuel line do I need ? I think the fuel line and brake line are the same size and both of them rusted .

I just did this on mine. I used 3/16 stainless (by the roll) and trust me, you have to get the metric fittings. Stainless is harder to work with but you do it once and that's it unless you make mods. You can get a roll of 3/16 copper nickel that bends easy & flares easy too. I suggest the Eastwood brand flaring tool, but get an HD unit. A whole lot less cussing and wasted material.
Now the fuel lines are larger 5/16. Experience talking; get a roll of -4 braided fuel line from Jegs or Summitracing along with 4 stainless screw clamps, and a bag of hose clamps / mounts to hold it safely out of the way.
Do it once.
Now personally I would do all the brake lines and not take chances. I got lucky mine failed on the lift during bleeding. Saved my bacon failing right then.

Well , I did think about using the rubber hose instead using steal fuel line , but I am kind of worried about the pressure in line . Is the clamp and hose would hold the pressure ?
Yes , I will replace the whole brake line .
