What header should I get for my 22RE?

yes, i feel your pain pruney, LCE seems to be very slow/delayed with their ceramic coating process, i haven't recieved my exhaust back yet. Also I do remmeber when i ordered my header and exhaust it took almost 2 weeks for John to ship my order out becuase it needed to be ceramic coated somewhere else, who knows?!

It took me longer then that to get mine. From time of order to delivery was almost 5 weeks. But it was christmastime so I didn't want to bug em and be "that guy" so I patiently waited a couple weeks then checked in with them.

He said they will be ready to ship around the 25th I believe. So that will give me some time to save up for the rest of the exhaust. Which will probably end up being a 2.25" magnaflow high flow cat and flowmaster 50 delta, and I 'll have the shop bend up some 2.25" pipes to connect it all up.

My LCE header and Pro Flow exhuast have been really fun this week (though I think a lot of the "race sound" is from my leak in the slip joint on the muffler
Definitely much better throttle response on my setup now though - even with my clogged CAT.

LCE's header comes with a blockoff plate, so it's kind of a one size fits all application. There's o2 sensors in 2 different locations, and no o2 sensor on the carbed. Between the "sensor relocation kit" and the blockoff plate, they will send you the same header and it will fit.
And I think he was talking about all the pair and egr fittings on his rig (Cali emissions). You can pull it out, one guy I just helped passed emissions with his egr cut out and welded shut. There has to be some threads on it, I have read em. I just didn't have any of that junk in my rig to begin with.

$280 for the helicoil? Holy crap! I got a kit from Tacoma screw for about $60 and did it myself. It was a pain, but 5 of the 8 needed attention. The pics look familiar. looks sweet, how's the loudness? I am getting used to it, plus it is making me get the dynamat done.

The "Drone" is there at highway speed but that could be due to the small exhaust leak I have at the muffler slip joint (need to weld!). I'm getting used to it - the throttle response on overall high gear pulling power are a nice bonus!

I picked up a Downey a few months ago, haven't installed it yet, but when I did my lookin' around I heard good things about it. They're out of business now though.

Header studs
Do you guys recommend getting the header studs to avoid problems when installing the headers? Any ideas on how to avoid striping the threads? i always end up stripping threads...
thanks
