What is this component?!!? (1995 T4R 4x4 V6)
This is the component in question..
Here it is looking forward. In the background you can see the transmission oil pan, these two components are NOT connected.
This thing is located between my transmission oil pan and my transfer case, right above the crossbar that holds it all up. And it has been leaking for a few weeks now. Obviously when I drive it, the leak is worse. I have watched many many videos of what I thought was the same 4runner and nobody has this mysterious box!! Do any of you guys know what it is so I can find the gasket that I need and I can get this over with?!

Welcome to YotaTech.
Learn how to use Microsoft Paint. You can put arrows, lines, text on your photos, and the rest of us don't have to guess what you are talking about.
If you're talking about the black pan, and you have an A340H transmission, then that's the pan for the transfer case. The manual specifies no gasket; just Three Bond 1281. https://web.archive.org/web/20140816...38onvehicl.pdf Apparently TB1281 cross references to Toyota Orange FIPG https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f123.../#&gid=1&pid=1 It is possible to buy that stuff . It's expensive, and it sets really fast. That's good if you're an experienced mechanic, never need to reposition anything, and need to get this vehicle out of your bay by noon. Me, I'm not so dexterous, and I can wait 24 hours for RTV to set. So I use RTV.
