oh I dunno...
This ehxaust system is so rigged together; there's about 10 clamps, 5 different adapters, and more leaks than I want to try to address, so I'm not even touching it till I go to cut it out and install a brand new cat-back system

i know i know, thats what im ordering.
2" lift, and i kinda want to go with new shackles. but everything is bigger, and since the lift will be enough i dont want to higher with lift shackles.. maybe il just get new bushings for them and call it good.

any shackle lift is tipically going to give you a little over half of the length they are over stock; these being 2.5" over stock would give just a bit more than 1.25" of lift; the little extra is do to the shackles being a little more in the vertical position. shorter shackels will tend to just want to lay more horizontal, and lose any lift
mine didn't lift but maybe .25" because of the taller shackles that were already on it, but I would get a little more lift and take full avantage of these shackles if I replaced my original Toyota springs with 290k miles on them with some new OEM hiehgt springs
plus getting them off the overload leafs would probably help the ride a lot...

Sorry, a bit late to the party but...
1) A truss won't fit with a diff drop
2) Get Sonorans truss if you can possibly swing it
Here is a pic of my Downey. Steve didn't make his yet when I put it on otherwise...
It's worse now. I've got it off for my in progress SAS and I'll see if I can get a pic of it tomorrow, but right now it's under my wife's car. That pic comes from this thread so you can compare the products.

I've got IFS stuff for sale for anyone interested specifically a Downey Idler Truss that did work as advertised. PM me for details. (threadjack off)

@blknblu:
couldn't help but noticing that the rear of the lca was pushed as far out as possible (the rear lca cam/adjuster bolt gave it away)... how far out is the front adjuster? just wondering... since all 4 of my adjusters are 0'd (adjuster is centered) and I have about -.1 camber on both sides and -.1 deg caster.
edit... just looked at my print-out... -0.1 caster, not -.01.

Unfortunately (or fortunately for me) it's all in a big pile due to SAS in progress but I recall they were all or most of the way out. I also recall the guy doing the alignment told me it was "in spec but nowhere to go from here". Found a couple pics from another thread. Post #14.

because most people wanted a truck that rides like a car. from a marketing standpoint, it was an excellent move on Toyota's part (improved ride/handling, increased maintainence for the dealers, more components to break, and of course, again, ride quality), and economically, most of us don't need the SFA, however it would be nice...

those lucky ducks in aus and other countries enjoyed the solid axle up until, 97 i think.
that was a smart move on their part for the US market, unfortunatly for us hardcore users, we got stuck with IFS since 86. it will be a happy day when i can afford to torch it all off.

ask the soccer moms. Toyota made it into an 'uber station wagon'.
They kept the 'land cruiser' for the 'serious' off-road people, but even made that 'soft' and out of reach for the hardcore people. ...trying to fill the ground between the honda CRX and F250 people I suppose...
...ultimately ended up isolating one of their largest markets.

Toyota's largest market is not the "serious off-road people", which is why they no longer sell, here in the US, any "serious off-road" vehicles.
Actually, Chrysler (Jeep) is about the only company still producing/selling "serious off-road" vehicles in the US.
