Exactly, in a spring under application a rear block will lower the vehicle. You will need to weld new spring perches in the top of the axle or go with some longer shackles for some lift.

I would say, DO NOT LET YOUR FRIENDS DAD TOUCH YOUR TRUCK IF HE PLANS ON LIFTING IT WITH STUFF HE "FINDS" AT WORK.

Can usually do a 1" lift on the 2WD/automatics:

Lift blocks on the rear won't help on the 2WD, they have springs under the axle, so a block will lower not lift.

Longer spring shackles or an add-a-leaf spring is a viable option in back:
