weird noise!
i changed the throwout bearing in the transmission becuase it was whining horribly! well, i also pulled the clutch down to change the pilot bearing but didnt because i remembered that the engine is brand new and so if the pilot bearing. so i put the clutch back on and stabbed the transmision. i also changed the slave cylinder and clutch master cylinder. well now, the tranny doesnt whine when i push the clutch in. i put it in gear and start to let off the clutch i have another whine. idk if a clutch can be put on wrong. like if the clutch plate its self it directional or not but i didnt even think about it when i put it back together. please someone know what the hell is wrong!

It could be input shaft bearing on the transmission.
If it is consistent with whining with the clutch in and transmission in gear, it's most likely your pilot bearing (would suck that a new one is bad, but that's not unheard of).

I dont know if you have found the problem yet but I redid the clutch in a Tercel and I accidentally put the throw out bearing in backwards and it caused the same symptoms. Just my 2 cents.
