I really hate the way flowmasters sound. Is that just me or what?
I prefer thrush. it has a nice low rumble at idle thats not too loud.
it's cheap. and when you smash the skinny pedal it gets nice and loud.

Just keep driving it. Mine was about all worn out after a few months. Now after a year its rusty and rivals a straight pipe.

They just sound so rattly and high pitched. I'm not saying they aren't a quality long lasting muffler. I just don't like the sound. If you are going to put down that much for a muffler take a listen to someone who has it first before you buy.

Flowmasters do not sound good on the 3vze. I would only run them if I had a 5.0. Flowmaster just hiked up their prices too! I just bought one for a friends chevy. I would rather run a magnaflow.

Nah, he's not the only one. Flowmasters are the worst performance muffler made.. so much backpressure!

Flowmasters have the same retarded ass rumbly sound on EVERYTHING... Makes every engine sound the same, not to mention ricey, they sound OK on 22RE's, but I'd rather run a 30" Cherry Bomb or IMCO Race Muffler... Or Spintech..

How exactly do you break up a glass pack? Correct me if i am wrong but isnt it just a pipe with holes that is surrounded by fiberglass insulation

Funny that 'flowmasters' actually have poor flow characteristics. Have you seen the 'flow' path? How many times does the exhaust flow change directions before it finds its way out, haha.

Magnaflow is the way to go......imo.

A glass pack is just a pipe with fiberglass insulation to quiet the exhaust note, but after a few months use the insulation blows out and it becomes a straight pipe.

I have worn mine just about as far as its going to go, I have a feeling its going to rust completly out soon.

Read the question. Do you think he knows what he talking about? He wants his truck to "POP". Grow up or put a card in your spokes to make the sound......

I have to agree with flash it sounds to me like you jst want your truck to sound irritatingly loud.

But to answer your question. try removing the glass pack and hammering on it with a rubber mallet while its on a work bench. then blow compressed air through it. never tried this myself but if your just dealing with fiberglass insulation it should come out.

BTW don't drive by my house after you do this.

glass packs are fun for a wile (2-3 months) then they just get louder and anoying

I know exactly what he wants, because my truck does it. He wants the popping/crackling noise on decelleration. Mine will do it when my truck is cold, once it warms up it will only make those noises in first gear, say while driving around looking for a parking spot.

If my camera would actually work I could get a video clip.
