That plug on the right looks like it took some aluminum with it when it came out...was that the #1? (If I'd read, yeah it is) How did the new plug thread in? It may spit it out eventually if your threads are buggered...

It was the #1. And yeah -- I figured that was aluminum or some sort of compound the PO put on the plug when installing it.

The new one threaded in nice and tight. I used one of the nicer older plugs to clean the threads a few time before installing it.

I'll keep an eye on it.

Side note -- When installing #4, the ceramic coating cracked a little because for a split second I wasn't wrenching completely straight on because of the awkward location of that cylinder. It should be replaced, correct?

Well if it threaded in nice, it should be fine. Little copper antiseize will make it easier next time around. The hi-temp stuff. And the cracked one should probably be replaced before long.

NGK specifically states not to use anti-seize with their plugs, so I followed their advice.

Ha! Really? I never caught that, just always put a little dot at the start of the threads and put 'em in. Really should read the box, then, huh?
