I bought a flez-a-lite a couple weeks ago, but it doesn't direct fit the clutch. Is there an adapter, or do I have the wrong fan. Its a Blue 18". Part # 1318. It's what the catalog listed for the 3.0.
VooDoo; both of my straight mechanical fans were on 4.0's (Yup, I've reformed of my heep sins) but there was no noticeable power loss, as long as I used a Flex-a-lite. My worry is if the fan bracket on the 3.0 is the weak link, will replacing the clutch put too much torque on it and break it like many have experienced.

Raptor,
I hear ya, man. I love my 2nd gen, but I've about had it with this 3.0. And it's a brand new engine.
Anybody tried a 2.7 in a 2nd gen runner yet?

That might actually be his problem, Raptor have you checked your fan clutch to see if it is locked up or something?

Maybe I'm just lucky, but 13 years without a fan failure here.
