U Joints Exploded. Had to drive home. Drive Shaft is damaged.
I blew out the u joints in the rear drive shaft double cardan joint. The slop caused wear in the CV H yoke itself. I found the part (MOOG pn 643) on ebay. The problem is they say it's only for 79-85 trucks. Everything else I read says that the 4wd drive shafts are the same from 79-95. I realize I would need to have the drive shaft balanced after installing the new part, but I am wondering if the part will work for my 1994 Ext Cab Pickup 4wd V6? The part is $50, new Dorman complete drive shaft is $1000, figuring $300-$500 for used Toyota drive shaft if I can find one. I am trying to spend as little as possible because there is a SAS, dual cases, and drive train lift coming soon and that means new 1 piece drive shafts front and rear.
Any thoughts?

You will be better with a double Carden in the rear and rotate your diff up for a proper angle. Gets it up out of the way a bit more and no vibes. I got two custom Tom Woods shafts for a little more money than what you quoted for a Dorman shaft. Call or email Tom Woods and you will actually get to talk to them and get listened to for what your plans for the truck are. I got mine fast and they stand behind their product. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I just need to repair the stock drive shaft for now. I am still collecting parts for the build, but it's my hunting truck and October is coming fast. I do not want to replace drive shafts now and then again after the mods. I will definitely keep Tom Woods in mind when the time comes. I appreciate the recommendations.
The part i need to replace
Damage 1
Damage 2
Good side - what it is supposed to look like
My problem is the the double cardan CV H joint is damaged where the u joint caps seat. I need to replace that single part (plus u joints) then balance the thing.

I just went out to my shed and can't find the 86 or 91 drive shafts. The scrap guy might have grabbed them.
I do have the drive shafts from my SAS'd 88. The double Cardan joint "might" be from my 99 4Runner 3.4 donor. I don't remember. In my current build I'm running Spicer parts in Tom Woods custom shafts so I don't need these anymore. I can measure it if you think you can use it.

That looks identical to the one I have. Being a V6 makes me more inclined to believe it is correct
I measured mine and this is what I came up with
u joint cup seats are 1.12" ID
distance from base of up seat to base of cup seat (inside distance) is 2.12"
outside distance of cup seats is 3.68"
overall length ear tip to ear tip 4.68"
largest outside diameter 4.2"
I measured with digital calipers but anything close should work. I think they were all made the same (except length) from 86-99 at least.
Just want to say that I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out and I really can't express how thankful I am. I hope the healing is as quick and pain free as possible.
