lol... If I had his budget for Turboing a 3.0h, I'd buy a FzJ80!
Or hell, an Fj80 for that matter... Nothing wrong with a 3F(or)E(ver) as long as you're realistic about tires and gears... (They're not worth a penny over $3,000 though... That's ppl trying to sell them b/c they don't know the differances for you)

yes to each their own but some things are just not worth the trouble. if you want forced air induction then motor swap to a motor that was made for forced induction. like i don't take a beach cruiser and mod it to go mountain biking lol.

Tracey Just use a small screwdriver.
Abecederian that is some valuable informatio.
At the moment I an thinkin. Cheap buget, well to me its costing me nothing.
All be keeping it single and keeping the turbo in the engine bay. It's my offroad and de truck

i leaned it out 3 clicks and got a little more low-end.
thumbs up on that mod from me
and i really want you to get a working turbo set up on a 3vze. i would be impressed and would consider trying it myself if you succeed. this is one of those things where i don't want to be the first one to jump but i am willing follow when i am assured the first guy survived lol.

I had a '92 4Runner with 3.0 in it and decided the lack of power was killing me...
... so I bought a supercharged 3rd gen, sold the '92, and never looked back.

It might be worth pointing out that installing the 5VZE in place of the 3VZE costs about as much as rebuilding a 3VZE (around 1500-2000 or so) and nets comparable power gains, if not modestly better even, to boosting a 3VZE to 7 PSI or so, without the inherent disadvantages of turbo'ing an already marginal engine.

yea, what abe said! tried and tested 3.4 or 3.4 supercharged. the 3.poop0 will be a headache for sure. it would be like trying to shove a footlong down an anerxic's throat. it wasnt meant to be boosted or there would be SOMEONE that has done it and has been successful. 3.4 man, as close to drop in as you can get.

You're only gonna think you have more Torque when you're towing and be all Ricky Bobby and, "Hey y'all, watch this!" And every bit of new power, plus the load you're gonna put on that engine towing will be in the heads...
Heads, head gaskets, 3.0... ring a bell?
No one EVER gets more power and drives it like they did before... NO BODY! You will be hauling ass in that thing every chance you get.
