Which trucks came with map pocket door panels?
I have searched around and can't figure out exactly which trucks came with map pockets. Was it the SR5? Was it only 4Runners?
I have a 1994 DLX Xtra Cab and wanted to install door panels with map pockets in my truck, but was not sure if they are an exact fit or not. If they are, how common are they to find? The local junkyard never has them...
The ones I am referring to are pictured here:

And this picture - I don't remember where I got it from, but what is this a picture of? SR5 pickup or a 4Runner? Bucket seats + center console is also on my wish list, if it is possible to swap them into my DLX.

Is it "documented" somewhere which trucks came with the map pockets, and bucket seats + center console? That's what I was really asking...
i.e. did all SR5 models - both pickups and 4Runners - come with these options? Or did only some? Or did all SR5's and some DLX's? Or did no DLX's? Etc.

The SR5 have them from what I have seen. The 84-88 trucks have thinner pockets on the doors. I like to take the 89-95 pockets and install them on the 84-88 trucks. They will fit on your truck. I have gotten mine out of the 2nd gen runners as I don't think I have ever seen one without the pockets. Seems like the runners got more options. Not all of the 89-95 trucks got the options in my experience.
If putting them on vinyl panels, I just put a dab of sealant on the screw holes to mark them. If installing them into carpeted panels, I use a finishing nail to mark my screw holes. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...l#post51788905 Here is how I do mine. These are 89-95s on the 84-88 trucks.

MY 86 SR5 4runner had them.
My 90 extra cab Deluxe did not.
My 88 extra cab deluxe has pockets, sunroof and buckets/console.
All were original when I got them.

To be clear - I am asking about the entire door panel. The ones with cloth on them and map pockets on the bottom.
I was not asking about map pockets on the vinyl door panels. I have never seen this unless someone custom fit the map pockets onto the vinyl panels themselves.

I am thinking that you wont be able to use a 4 Runner door panel. A friend of mine tried to put an entire 4Runner door on his truck. It came off of a four door runner. The 4Runners door was 1/2 inch shorter then his truck door. You might could use a 2 door runners panels but that is going to be tough to find. This applies to the 89-95 trucks.

Terry's correct about the 4-door runner panels not fitting your 94 Xtracab, they will be too short. There are threads about this subject, but to sum it up you can use 89-95' truck door panels or 90' 2-door runner panels.
You asked about which trucks come with map pockets - I don't know which specific models come with them, but some do. And some don't have carpet on the pockets. I can say that almost all 89-95 runners come with them since I've yet to see one at the junkyard that didn't have them, and again the difference that i've seen is that some come with and some without the carpet on them.
I don't know what end result you're looking for, but if you want map pockets on your door panels then grab them from a 4runner and install them like Terry demonstrated. That is the same thing as finding door panels with them already installed and are much easier to find.
You showed a picture of cloth door panels with map pockets, if that's what you want then Yes, it is hard to find them at a junk yard, but not impossible and you may still need the map pockets from a 4runnner to get what you want. I eventually found some after a long while, but had to fully restore them myself. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...panels-256546/
Good luck!
EDIT: Another issue you might encounter is ensuring you find panels that match your window mechanism. If you have manual you'll need manual door cards, if you have auto then you might need the cut out for that type. I don't know for sure since I have manual windows and found manual cloth door cards.

My windows are manual. I have yet to find a picture of those cloth covered, map pocket-equipped door panels with manual windows.
With that said, how hard is it to convert my windows from manual to automatic?
