truck wont go into gear while running?
#41
When the reservoir was still full, I was thinking internal leaking between the cups not allowing pressure to build to the slave, since there were no outward signs of leaking. I couldn't figure out why the clutch start switch wouldn't start the truck with the pedal going to the floor. The clutch itself was working fine. Once muscling into gear, it drove just fine, it was the actual shifting that was the problem.
Edit: It just struck me now... Internal cup failure is pretty much a brake master issue, as the CMC only has one reservoir. DOH!
Once I got home, I pushed the pedal while watching. I noticed that the tab on the pedal was so far out of alignment that it wasn't even touching the switch. It was a relief to know what the problem was, but I'm not looking forward to the R&R.
As I stated before, I'm grateful for the ones that have the experience. A cracked support would have been the last thing I would have been looking for, as it seems to be with most others. ;-)
