Trouble with 3VZE not starting
So I went out to my truck today and started it up like normal. I had my hood open and was peeking around and checking a couple things when all of a sudden it just stopped running. I had it running for a couple minutes and was still cold. When it died it didnt bog down or anything but just stopped running. I went to start it back up again but it will not start just cranks and cranks.
What should I check first? Almost seems like its not getting gas but im not sure. How do I check that? I was about to fill up with gas so it was pretty low but the gas light wasnt even on yet.
Any ideas?

So I checked for codes and dont have anything.
I jumped the B+ and the FP terminals but didnt hear anything. I checked for voltage and have voltage between those two.
I have no idea what could have caused the truck to die. Im gonna try adding gas and see if that fixes it. Maybe my gas gauge isnt reading correctly?
Anybody?

I just retested jumping the B+ and FP terminals and I can hear the fuel pump. If I get next to it I can hear a very high pitch noise coming from it. Is this normal?

Just added a couple gallons of gas and the same thing happens.
When I turn the key to on I can hear clicking near the glove box which I believe is normal.
What else can I try to start ruling stuff out? Im gonna try pulling the EFI fuse for a bit and see if that helps

I checked all the fuses under the hood and under the dash.
I replaced the timing belt when I did the head gasket probably less than 8000 miles ago but I guess it could be a possibility

Spark, fuel and compression. The motor will run. Check for spark at the plugs, then at the coil. This will help narrow your focus to the primary or secondary ignition system

Alright so I just got back inside. I have to wait for my girlfriend to get ready for work so I can check spark.
I tested the resistance on the distributor, primary coil and secondary coil. Everything looked good except when I tested the secondary coil the manual said to be in spec it should be between 9.0k - 15.4k. When I tested mine it said 3.423 does that mean its bad?
I also tested the main relay. When I test it I do not have continuity between 1 and 2 which I should. http://personal.utulsa.edu/~nathan-b...95efimainr.pdf
Should I try replacing both of those? I will check for spark here in a bit

from the sounds of what happened... I would also check your ground wires. I am gonna guess that your coil isn't firing. I know that picknpull sells around here for 17.99 coil and ignitor combo. Just make sure your match the v6 or 4 cylinder motor.
I got money that the coil failed personally.... 5 peso's

Yeah im gonna check for spark one last time then probably run to the wrecking yard down the street and see what they got. Maybe they will have the relay too

I will also check on the timing belt too. So to check to see if my timing belt is still working I take the cap off of the distributor and make sure the metal thing is spinning. If its not its my timing belt. Is this correct?
