Is that taking into account nodal transitioning? Otherwise, I don't see how it could be accurate unless the driver has some idea of which direction he's going. I mean reverse just isn't forward. But, then maybe the clipboard guy has good reflexes.

Well, I replaced the speed VSS with a $203 (including shipping) part from Toyotapartszone.com and the speedo is working all of the time now. The trans hasn't slipped yet, but it hasn't been long enough to know for sure. Took all of 3 minutes to swap parts.

Yeah, it's an (ooops) easy part to change out.

I won't know because the erratic shifting I was having didn't occur every day or even every week. It would lie in wait until the best moment to act up. But I feel confident that's fixed now.

If you go in from the passenger side, it isat the top of the transfer case. It has an electronic plug attached. It has a black, diamond-shaped base if I remember.

Pulled up this part number... It shows that its only for 93-95 models..mines a 92..
