shiny bolts is were the bumper is connected to the braces i put behind it.
This is the best pic i could get of what one brace looks like. it is welded to the truck frame.

Yea I did the same welded gusseted bracket modification to mine, After my first install I was yanking on a chevy and doing some heavy winching. the bumper held up, but I broke and stripped the bolts....lets say it was saggin hard on its way out of the trail.
I do it right when I do it twice

I almost got the tg bumper but finally decided on the sky manufacturing one.
I like the stinger for pulling, but I think that it might have annoyed the hell out me when tooling around in the engine compartment. also, the cross bars interfere with the headlights which already suck bad on my 94 PU. no blinker mounts either, no a biggie, but at least the marlin one has those.
the sky sheet metal bumper has some sick angles, and a little shelf like front to set my beer and my 10, 12, & 14 mm wrenches while doing the quarterly change of the head gasket on my 3.0
if you havnt seen the sky man bumper, check er out

you know the only reason i got a wheel cover is cuz the truck is from so-cal and the top is so rotted its unbearable, i actually stitched this on on tho so it doesnt move...
as fer the sky sheet metal bumper, there pretty cool lookin but pricey. i also wanted a tube bumper to match my rear bumper... and i dont know how the tg is any more illegal than the marlin crawler, i still have blinkers which are soon to go into my corners. plus the support bars dont block my head lights that much if at all, havent noticed any difference at night.
