Tps unplugged?

Tps unplugged?
Hello,
I had a misfire and hesitation during acceleration at low rpm ( less than 3500), recently when I unplugged the Tps sensor connection the hesitation went away and I gain back full power on acceleration.
The question is can I run and drive my 3vz P/u without reconnecting or replacing the Tps or should I buy a new one? Since I think it is difficult to adjust and calibrate a new one.
Please advise since my car now is running perfectly and I don't know what to do

Personally, I would replace and align the new one. The ECU needs the information from the TPS to help set the mixture correctly, and for sensing the idle condition, for the braking injector cut.
Just me though...

The problem is that I read the FSM about inserting new one, but I found it difficult to.. Any easier steps or video which might make this easier for me? Do I have to measure using a gauge and at the same time use a ohmeter or there is some steps easier!

3vz92 - It's not hard if you take the throttle body off. And that's not hard either and besides, you get to clean the gunk out while you have it off. This video is for the 22re, but basically the same. Just adjust for the 3vze specs.

If I bought a new TPS sensor, does it need calibration or adjustment? Or I can simply take it out from its box and install it on the throttle body without calibration or adjustment.

It needs to be calibrated according to the FSM once it's installed. Pretty important step.

Adjusting tps
Hey all,
I’ll ask this here since the OP might benefit.
So I’ve read all the posts about adjusting. And watched videos. I’ve adjusted valves before so I understand the Kind of trial and error of getting measurements just right. So I adjusted my tps and seemed ok but noticed my mpg dropping to 9mpg and checked codes and got a 41…tps.
while adjusting the tps I found it nearly impossible to get the readings just right. Seemed like just thinking about breathing would cause them all to be off when snugging screws down. So hours of that and got it close but they would never really stay in range after adjusting.
is it that finicky of a task or did you find it to be fairly straight forward? Maybe mine is shot? Just wondering if I should buy a new one or not since I like to fix rather than throw money away.
thanks!

You mean you couldn't hit 2.3k ohms exactly? No, it is not that finicky. All you're trying to do is make sure that IDL-E2 is connected when the throttle is closed, and disconnected when the throttle is open. But what is "closed"? What is "connected"? So Toyota makes it easy. Anything less than 0.50mm is closed, and anything less than 2.3kohms is connected. At 0.80mm or more, you should get infinite resistance. (disconnected). This eliminates all the fussing over your breathing.

Only one adjustment is possible. That is the on/off idle adjustment. That's it.
All the other measurement specs given are to determine if a used TPS is fit for further service, or not.
Most aftermarket TPS units are junk, right out of the box. Spring for a genuine Toyota part, if you actually need a new TPS.
