tourqe specs for head bolts?
#4
definitely replace the head bolts. when they are installed, they actually over-torque the head bolts just a little bit. when they do this is stretches the bolts just a little bit to get a good seal between the head and the block. this is on your 96 right?
these r the torque specs for all 96 engines:
2rz-fe and 3rz-fe:
Step 1: 29ft pounds
Step 2: 90 degree turn
Step 3: 90 degree turn
5vz-fe:
Step 1: 27ft pounds
Step 2: 33ft pounds
Step 3: 90 degree turn
Step 4: 90 degree turn
1fz-fe:
Step 1: 27ft pounds
Step 2: 90 degree turn
Step 3: 90 degree turn
Now, there are torque sequences but its hard to explain without actually showing it to you. Make one pass in the correct sequence for each step. I hope this helps. Sorry I can't help you with the sequences! Good luck!
