torsion bar removal question 86 4runner
I"m working on an OME lift and I have everything done except for the torsion bars. I started taking out the passenger side torsion bar tonight and I got it detached from the anchor arm and torque arm. The problem is that there isn't any room to pull it out from the front or the back. In the back the gas tank is in the way, and in the front the brake lines are in the way. It doesn't look like it will fit through any holes. Has anyone replaced their torsion bar in an 86 4runner? I thought that the lock nut and adjusting nut was supposed to be the only problem.

I have the FSM for a 93 T4R. It says to "remove the torsion bar"...no joke. No picture nothing. Basically loosen the bolt and slide out the t-bar.
For me, I have an auto, and I figured out that removing the bolt for the AFT cooler and let that hang down (do not disconnect the ATF hoses) and doing that gave me enough room to slide the bar out in a few minutes.
