Timing on my 22RE

New to the forum. I'd like to know how to set the timing on my newly overhauled 22RE. I have the crank set @ 0 which is causing my cam gear to be off to the right of TDC. The truck runs, but it has no torque and can barely hold an idle. My distributor is as far up as it can go as well. Need a few pointers on how to properly correct this situation.

Thanks, Mermantz.

Maybe pull the distributor out and shift it one tooth over so your back in the middle of the adjustment range.
Either that or the cam and crank are out of time.

Thanks for the help. I guess my question now is what should the crank be lined up at 0* or 5*? Hearing differnet things. I think if I put the crank at 5* it will bring my cam gear back to TDC which to my understanding would be the problem solver of this situation. Am I correct?
