i checked the timing with a light and it reads 20* advanced off cyl 1. if i turn the dist. wont that throw off the even side (2,4,6) ? is it possible that the timing belt is off a tooth or two on the odd side (1,3,5) and could advance my timing 10*?

heres a list of my recent engine work:
-plenum cleaned out
-intake cleaned
-injectors sonic cleaned and serviced
-new top end gaskets
-new wires, dist. cap and rotor. (plugs 3 months old)
-new fuel filter
-new o2 sensor
-new air filter

-*erg coming off as soon as i figure out the timing.
acctuly in some old chevys like camaros that 78 berlinetta model usually had a timing problem they could be off a tooth an run but you could feel a difference

all in all with the work that i did my truck sure seems a lot more peppy!

thanks everyone!
Awesome. Don't forget to stick a 1k ohm resistor in that EGR temp sensor so it doens't throw a code at you.

ok, so on top of all the bad luck i am having recently. it seems my timing is yet again off (by only a small amount this time) my truck is stuttering like it did before with some minor power loss.

it has only been maybe 1000km since i adjusted it last. is there a reason that i am missing for the timing to slip like this? my belt is as tight as it can get with the tensioners. why would it go out like this? again?
