There shouldn't be bearings on a fan pulley, it bolts to the water pump...IIRC.

Side note...
Did you,you personally, put in your rear main seal, or did you have the shop do that?
thinking i should replace my leaking seal while i have the trans out.

You are brave! My wife would KILL me if I brought ANY of my engine or 4runner stuff inside the house, let alone clean it on the dinner table!

Your build looks good! I should have my 22re back from the machine shop next week... then the real fun begins!

Here's my build thread:

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199...ild-up-236257/

I think I have a pretty special woman, she lets me do anything I want as long as it stays in the garage. She doesn't complain too much about the money I spend on my tools or the 4runner. As long as she gets spoiled once in a while I get left alone on my projects

btw: What paint did you end up using? I have never painted an engine or done anything like this, so it's a slow learning process. I was leaning towards VHT but it's a bit spendy I think, plus you have to bake each part you paint.

Skinner, do you happen to have an extra set of transmission braces that bolt to the bottom of the block? I noticed when I took the a/t out, the monkey that did the engine replacement didn't think they were necessary

No i dont, but i can get a set for you pretty easily. might have to wait till next Fri. to get them tho. Good news on my parts tho, a fellow yotatecher has a set of the P/S lines i need. Hopefully he can hold them till next Fri. If so, thats the last bit of my puzzle i needed to find. So next Fri I'll get 1 of my heads in, the fly wheel and the P/S lines. Then im down to rebuild the rad, get the other head and a clutch bout another month and it should be DONE !!!!!

yo.....just got myself all up to speed on your thread. good work.

totally hit me up when you are working here if you have any questions......I move soooooooo slowly because I analyze the crap out of everything we are doing. have made a few mistakes along the way that I hopefully can help you prevent....

such as....
-almost breaking my finger because I put the crankshaft pulley partially on but not so certain of the woodruff key position
-putting the fan clutch on last night without putting the pulley on....dumb dumb dumb , got it back off.

had a helluva time with the timing belt but got it figured out

as far as Rausch goes, yes I plan on taking a ride there....to treat it as more of a truck show than anything....will NOT be hitting the trails this year....did it last year and felt I punished my truck too much (my opinion.....but really the trails are nice...I didn't air-down and that really makes it a crappy drive). will be there to try to meet as many of the guys as possible...have already met SWIMMERBOY and of course XXXXTREME ......hope you can make it, even if it's just for a bit.

Yeah not going to happen this year. I have to wait till next pay day which is July first to get the drvr side head back. I should have everything on hand by then except for possibly the radiator. Going to have it rebuilt. So by the 3rd i dont think there is any reson i shouldnt have it running, but that is still a week late.... mayhaps we can set up a trip a little later in the summer/fall and have some guys go then. Will be broken in by then and hopefully have new tires and possibly gears by then. Keep your eyes/ears open for some decently priced 4.88's for me. LOL Ill get some pics later today of what i have gotten done so far.
